37 Day Quarantine Journey: Day 2
/Waking up with thankfulness, love, and gratitude
Today I am thankful for a loving family, a safe and beautiful home, plenty of food to eat, my animal companions, loyal employees, loyal patients willing to see me via tele-dermatology and loyal Koru members and supporters, thankful I live in beautiful Hawaii, and thankful for my peaceful meditation corner.
Realizing that everything is temporary.
Make sure you stay in a place of love and gratitude; this will keep you free from spiraling into fear. Know that everything is temporary (that is one good thing about being older, you have seen things come and go and have learned life is full of seasons). The situation we are all in is transient and it will pass! Be present in the NOW, the future and what could possibly happen is not here, it’s not real! If you concentrate on what MIGHT happen in the future, you could plummet into a place of fear. We will enjoy life more without fear of loss or anxiety about the future when we ACCEPT change is unavoidable.
What happens if I slip up and start to feel anxious?
If you slip and start to fear, start speaking out loud things you are grateful for in the NOW! As I recommended yesterday, gratitude is the second step toward our journey together to inner beauty; you want to end and start your day in thankfulness and gratitude. Gratitude should be part of your daily exercise routine; that’s one way to build inner- strength muscles!
Step #3 toward a new and beautiful you
Today, do something special for someone. When we give to others it is hard to be self-obsessed. There is nothing more beautiful than selflessness from a kind and generous heart. Go against the Coronavirus hoarding we have all experienced lately and give…
Cook a hot meal for an older person that is in isolation
Write a note and leave it on your neighbor’s door letting them know how thankful you are for them.
Pick a bouquet of flowers for someone special.
Gift wrap a roll of toilet paper and give it to someone in need!!!
